Half day dedicated to the discovery of one the most beautiful medieval town of Italy made this thanks to the location where it is. Old city part of the Etruscans, is located south of the province of Arezzo and south-east of Tuscany, bordering the Umbria region.

By the V century the city and the territory of Cortona appear fully formed, but only the VI century the town acquired a plant full readability with the construction of walls, built for more 3 km, which still constitute the sign of an extraordinary urban form of the classical age and the present.
Cortona was one of 12 cities of the Etruscan confederation, and its primitive walls can look impressive features soon modified by medieval walls.

In the Etrascan Academy Museum, among many art works of the period emerge Etruscan chandelier, one of the most celebrated bronzes of antiquity and the Muse Polyhymnia, roman painting of extraordinary beauty.
The diocesan Museum displays works them Luca Signorelli, renaissance painter and native of Cortona, and one of the most beautiful “Annunciation” by Beato Angelico.
